Allows certain Type 1 charter schools (new and locally authorized) to act as their own local education agencies for funding purposes.
Reinforces teachers’ rights to “be free from undue pressure from school administrators including the withholding of information valuable to the teacher.
Grants teachers explicit access to curriculum, materials and professional development in alignment with state standards.
Requires schools to publicly disclose any fees and/or uniform costs to parents prior to enrollment.
In the event of insufficient funding, provides for reducing or eliminating Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) awards based on certain academic and financial criteria and eliminating payment of certain stipends to students.
